The Tennessee Titans will win in Week One over the New York Jets because they have to. This is as must win of a game as you will find in the first week of an NFL season and that is a direct result of all of the circumstances the Titans face. Whether it be organizational momentum, the many revenge connections in this matchup or just the pure need to beat a team in their own tax bracket, the Titans have plenty of reasons to be hungry for a W. To get it, they must play CLEAN football with minimal mistakes, penalties and blunders. That effort will be led by Cam Ward, who must not blow the game with bad decisions. Staying on offense, a key to the game plan will be getting the run game going with Tony Pollard, particularly on the outside. On defense, Robert Saleh is known for his four-man rushes, but against Geno Smith early in the year, the Titans should consider bringing the heat early to rattle the old quarterback.

The biggest advantage the Titans have in this game is their weapons group on offense has a chance to really take it to the secondary of the New York Jets. Look for Wan'Dale Robinson and Carnell Tate to win their matchups in the middle. However, that matchup is flipped when look for the disadvantage as the Jets have some solid players to throw to as well. Issues in the secondary have been a plenty in the preseason and need to be cleaned up.
